About Us
Hi! Thank you for your interest in Twilight Diving. Our team is passionate about night diving, as the reefs look completely different than during the day. Some marine life is going to sleep while others get active. Also, it’s much more about the details because with your dive light you are only paying attention to a small area. You never know what you are going to find, the underwater world is full of surprises!
Meet the team:
Mirjam Jacobs: “I am originally from the Netherlands and I live on Bonaire since 2012. I used to be a primary school teacher but in 2014 I made a career switch and became a dive professional. In 2020 I started Twilight Diving, and even though I have a busy daytime job I still love to go out for a dive at night.
I’m always on the lookout for the weird and wonderful, and guess what, at night all the cool critters come out! I’m looking forward to share my passion with you.
By the way, I like underwater photography too! All pictures on this website are mine. If you need some tips and tricks I am happy to share my knowledge. Check out the gallery if you like to see some of my photos.”
Martijn Hickmann: “I am also from the Netherlands and I have worked on Bonaire several times since 2008. Mirjam and I have moved permanently to the island in 2012. I have been certified since 1999, and turned my hobby into my job in 2008. I have been a dive professional ever since, with 1000’s of guided dives all over the world.
I am an enthousiastic nature lover who can tell you all about the local flora and fauna. While diving I like to look for the unusual stuff, including the small and elusive creatures that easily go unnoticed. Let me show you some creatures you have probably never seen before! Besides diving I also offer nature tours on land.“
